Human Rights Activists Hold Candlelight Vigil in Northern India

Human rights activists and intellectuals from India and Pakistan hold a candlelight vigil at the India-Pakistan Wagah border in India's northern Punjab state.

The hour-long midnight vigil on August 14-15 coincided with the 62nd Independence Day celebrations of both countries.

The event was organized to spread the message of peace and harmony, especially after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai last year.

Participants carried candle lights and torches as they marched to the Wagah check post shouting slogans of "Long Live India-Pakistan Friendship.”

Pakistani activist Iqbal Haider says Kasab, the only living gunman captured during the Mumbai carnage, was not just India's enemy but an enemy of Pakistan as well.
