Jharkhand (Ranchi): Ex - Chief Minister Madhu Koda was accused of corruption in 4,000 crore money. Today’s Union Bank of India (CMD) has to be interrogated by the Income Tax department in connection with deposits of about Rs- 640 crore made by an alleged front man of former Ranchi Chief Minister Madhu Koda. Madhu Koda's front companies are said to have deposited Rs 640 crore between November 2006 and December 2008.
Ujjawal Choudhary the director of Income Tax department to investigation told the media about Koda had told probe officials he wanted to rest and asked them to come in the afternoon. The ED also issued fresh summons to Koda for appear before its officials in Ranchi on Nov. 19 as part of its probe. The bank has also said that cash deposits for gold and silver purchase has trade practice, and that substantial quantity of gold has been purchased from them. After noon Sources said Koda who was to appear before the Directorate on November 15 in the national capital had expressed his inability to do so citing forthcoming polls in the state. The Enforcement Directorater will also ask the official whether he had informed higher authorities about the transaction.
